Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome referred to as AIDS is a critical microbial disease that attacks the body's natural system. Caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), AIDS progressively weakens the ability of the individual to fight infections and diseases. Spread of HIV primarily occurs through sexual contact.
